I met "Scooter" when he was 0nly 7 months old at "Falling
Starr Ranch".
My
best friend Toni Brown had just bought him to stand him as stud
at her ranch in Mesa: "Rising
Starr Ranch".
It
was love at first sight - I would never be the same.
From the first moment on I wanted to have "Scooter" so bad
that my Mom even called Toni from Germany, to ask her if we could
buy him and bring him to Germany for me.
But obviously that was not going to happen,
since he became a very successful and known Paint Horse Stallion.
So,
at least I got to see and love on him every year during summer break,
when we visited Toni.
In
2001 "Big Medicine Starr" retired from breeding
and was to live his life as a GELDING.
But of course this didn't minder my love for him at all!
Finally, in 2005 after some years of me nagging,
Toni decided to send her 3 remaining horses, Scooter, Tailor & Cowboy,
into the cool highlands of Chino Valley for the summer.
I was thrilled!
I got to ride and fuss over "my" beloved Scooter every minute
of the day!
But
it got even better, although I didn't think it could...
Since
Toni sadly had to get out of the horse business due to back injury,
she wanted Cowboy who was healthy 23 years old, to retire
somewhere he would be cared for as well as she would do.
So she decided to let him live at my ranch with all of my animals and
me.
To show her appreciation, and because I think she just couldn't
listen to me going on and on about the wonderful "Scooter",
she made my dream come true and
gave HIM to me as a gift!
Life
couldn't get any better!
Thank you so much Toni for the best horse in the world!
